Pre-emergent and starter feed

The barrier goes down before soil temperature reaches 55°F, which is when crabgrass seed wakes up. Miss this window and you chase crabgrass all year.

Rounds are scheduled on conditions, not on fixed dates. A cold spring pushes round 01 back; a warm one pulls it forward. You get a notice before each visit.

01 Feb - Mar

Pre-emergent and starter feed

Broadleaf control and spring feed

Weeds are growing hard, so they move herbicide down to the root fast. This is the most effective single control visit of the year.

  • Dandelion, plantain, clover, ground ivy and wild violet targeted
  • Second half of the pre-emergent barrier to carry protection through June
03 Jun

Grub prevention and balanced feed

Preventive product sits in the root zone and kills larvae as they hatch, months before the lawn would show a single brown patch.

  • Long-residual preventive watered into the top 2-4 inches of soil
  • Summer blend weighted toward potassium for heat and drought tolerance
  • First formal scouting check for chinch bugs along hot edges
04 Jul

Surface insect scouting and spot weed

Nothing is blanket-sprayed in July. We walk the lawn, pull back turf at the edges, and treat only what is actually feeding.

  • Curative insect treatment applied at no charge when counts justify it
  • Spot treatment for nutsedge and summer broadleaf breakthroughs
05 Aug

Recovery feed and weed control

Turf coming out of heat stress needs food it can use straight away, without forcing soft growth into the worst of the summer.

  • Broadleaf weeds treated as the second germination wave begins
  • Thin and bare areas flagged for the fall seeding visit
06 Sep - Oct

Core aeration, overseed and fall feed

Roughly 80% of a cool-season lawn root system is built now. This is the visit that decides what next summer looks like.

  • Overseeding with improved turf-type tall fescue and bluegrass
  • Heaviest feeding of the year, aimed at roots rather than blades
07 Nov - Dec

Winterizer and final broadleaf

Perennial weeds are pulling nutrients down to the roots for winter. They pull herbicide with them, which is why the last visit kills so thoroughly.

  • High-potassium winterizer for cold hardiness and spring green-up
  • Final broadleaf application while translocation is at its peak
  • Written season summary with soil results and notes for next year
