A route, not a
call centre.

Mike's Lawns has been treating lawns in and around Springfield since 2009. The same technician runs your street every round, which is the only way anyone notices a lawn changing.

Why we do it this way

Most lawn programs are a route, run at speed.

The economics of this trade reward covering ground. Blanket-spray everything, apply the same blend to every property, keep moving.

It produces lawns that have been treated without being improved. You see it every summer: a lawn that has been on a program for four years, still thin, still full of crabgrass along the driveway, still going backwards in July.

We built the program around timing and diagnosis instead. Fewer blanket applications, more scouting, a soil test before anything goes down, and a schedule that follows the grass rather than the invoice cycle. It is slower per property. It is the reason people stay.

How we operate

Four rules we do not bend.

01

Diagnose before treating

No product goes down until we know what the problem is. If your lawn does not need an insect treatment, you will not be sold one.

02

Timing over volume

Two well-timed applications beat five badly timed ones. We would rather skip a spray in a July drought than bill for one that will not work.

03

Say the unwelcome part

If your lawn needs replacing rather than treating, or your irrigation is the real problem, we will tell you, even though it costs us the sale.

04

Leave a record

Every visit ends with a posted notice on the lawn and a written summary by email: what was applied, what we found, what to watch for.

What a visit looks like

You do not need to be home.

Leave the gate unlocked and the lawn clear. Everything else is ours to handle.

01 Notice

We let you know the day before so you can move furniture, toys and the dog bowl off the lawn, and unlock the side gate.

02 Walk

The technician walks the property before touching a sprayer: weed pressure, damage patterns, mowing height, thin areas, and a scouting check for insect activity.

03 Treat

Products go down at label rate for the conditions on the day. Wind, temperature and rainfall in the forecast all change what is appropriate, and sometimes mean we reschedule.

04 Post

A notice goes in the lawn with the products used and the exact re-entry time. Stay off until dry, normally one to two hours.

05 Report

A written summary reaches you the same day, including anything we found and what we recommend before the next round.

Next step

We walk the lawn first.
The quote comes after.

An inspection takes about twenty minutes. You get a soil reading, a written list of what is growing that shouldn’t be, and a price. No obligation, and we will tell you if your lawn does not need us yet.
